Oswego, N.Y. -

This week area law enforcement officials have been occupied by three cases in the cities of Oswego and Fulton and Oswego Town involving manslaughter, rape allegations and a missing person.

• Wednesday, an Oswego Town man pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend.

Frank W. Ward, 46, of 171 Chapel Road was in Oswego County Court Wednesday with his defense attorney, Eben Norfleet, where he pleaded guilty to the class-B felony.

In November 2007, Ward was charged with assault in the first degree after he admitted fighting with his now deceased girlfriend, Irene Doviak, at their home on Chapel Road.

Ward has sat in the Oswego County Correctional Facility since November and was charged Monday in the death of Doviak with one count of manslaughter in the first and second degree.

Court documents said that during the evening hours of Nov. 18, 2007, Ward “act(ed) with the intent to cause serious physical injury to another person, Irene Doviak, repeatedly struck and kicked Irene Doviak in the head and body, resulting in injuries that caused her death.”

Ward will be held in Oswego County Jail without bail until he returns to court for sentencing June 30 at 8:45 a.m.

• An Oswego woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with two felonies and six misdemeanors resulting from her alleged sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old boy and events surrounding their relationship.

Jeanine M. Buske, 33, of 30 Hamilton Homes, was arrested at her residence and charged with two counts of rape in the third degree, a class-E felony and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, class-A misdemeanors.

An Oswego County Sheriff’s Department investigation found that Buske allegedly had intercourse with a 16-year-old boy on multiple occasions and at various locations in the city of Oswego.  On at least one occasion, Buske allegedly allowed a 15-year-old boy to witness the act.

The investigation also revealed that Buske allegedly falsely portrayed herself as the 16-year-old’s mother to allow an Oswego business to pierce the child’s tongue. Buske was also charged with one count of forgery in the third degree; criminal impersonation in the second degree; and endangering the welfare of a child, all class-A misdemeanors.

Buske was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. She is slated to return to court June 19.

• Fulton police are searching for a Fulton man who has been missing since March.
James John Bonoffski, 35, left his Fulton home, March 12, and has not returned since.

Bonoffski often visits the Rescue Mission and various hospitals in the Syracuse area. According to Fulton police, at this time there is no indication of foul play.

Bonoffski is a white male, approximately 5 foot nine inches, weighing 280 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, a red Jeff Gordon sweatshirt, blue jeans and sneakers. Anyone with information regarding Bonoffski’s whereabouts is asked to call the Fulton Police Department at 598-4504.
