After spotting visiting Corcoran four first-inning runs, the Oswego varsity softball team stormed back to get a 14-4 victory Thursday on Senior Day.
Honored in ceremonies prior to the game were Buccaneer seniors Sarah Petrie, Emily Oleyourryk, Lexi Deming, and Mandy Ranous.
Corcoran started with a first-inning outburst which was aided by two Oswego errors. Diamond Brown and Sierra McMahon drilled RBI singles, and Sara Harrington’s squeeze bunt also plated a run.
Oswego answered quickly, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Five Cougar errors contributed to the rally. Marissa Canale belted a two-run double, and Lauren Corradino and Morgan Lavner nailed RBI singles.
Corradino allowed just one hit after the first inning. In her six innings of work, she struck out 10. Laura Miceli pitched a perfect seventh, striking out two.
The Bucs added a run in the second, six in the fourth, and two in the sixth. Corradino had two singles, a triple, and three RBIs. Marissa Canale doubled, singled twice, and knocked in two runs. Petrie and Lavner had two hits each, and Oleyourryk had an RBI single.
Oswego, 15-8, will play a non-league night game at Auburn on Monday to conclude the regular season.
