Oswego County Habitat for Humanity was recognized this month with $2,500 from Cans for Habitat, a national partnership between Habitat for Humanity International and the Aluminum Association. Competing against other Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the country, Oswego County Habitat for Humanity won the money by collecting and recycling the most pounds of aluminum cans in October.
Oswego County Habitat for Humanity recycled an impressive 8,637 pounds of cans, earning the affiliate more than $12,950. The proceeds from these recycled cans, along with the $2,500 award, will be used to help build Habitat for Humanity homes in partnership with families in need.
