An Oswego man was charged with manslaughter Sunday after a verbal argument escaladed and left another man dead.

At 1:46am , Sunday  the Oswego County 911 center received a
call regarding an unresponsive male at Lot #25 Pine Grove Rd., in the town of
Richland.  

Police and Northern Oswego County Ambulance personnel responded to the scene to find Robert S. King,36, of 5 Kimberly Lane Apt #326, Mexico, unconscious.  KIing was transported to Oswego Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

The investigation has determined that King was assaulted by Michael J. Fredette, 44, of 427 Nine Mile Point Rd., Oswego following a verbal dispute.  Fredette has been charged with manslaughter in the first degree, and was arraigned before Town Justice James Ridgeway, in the town of Richland court.

Fredette was committed to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000
bond. He is scheduled to reappear in the town of Richland court  Aug. 11.

An autopsy was scheduled for late Sunday to determine the cause of death.
