Oswego man nabbed for burglary, weapons charge

An Oswego man was arrested Monday after he allegedly entered a residence and displayed a handgun in a threatening manner.

Raymond P. Gomes, 18, of 120 Liberty St., Oswego, was charged with four felonies Monday. The Oswego Police launched their investigation into the suspect’s whereabouts after receiving a call at 12:30 p.m. from an Oswego resident who allegedly knew Gomes.

With help from the Fulton Police Department, Oswego police were able to locate Gomes in the parking lot of the Pit-Stop in Granby. The suspect was taken into custody
without incident. Gomes was charged with burglary in the first degree, a class-B felony;
criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class-C felony; reckless endangerment in the first degree, a class-D felony; and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a class-E felony.

He was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail or $30,000 bond. Gomes is expected to return to court Tuesday.
