Anne M. Pilon, 78 and a resident of 139 county Route 29 in the town of Scriba died Friday morning, Aug. 15, 2008 in the Oswego Hospital.

She was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late John and Doris Hallows Knopp.

She was the widow of Charles Pilon who died in November 2003.

Mrs. Pilon was the head of food service at the Oswego Catholic High School for many years. She was a charter member of the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department’s Woman’s Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Peter’s Church.

She is survived by three daughters JoAnne (Ralph) Steele of Scriba, Jeanne (John) LaLande of Oswego, Janet (Michael) Fairbanks of Derry, N.H.; one son, John (Kathleen) Pilon of Scriba; one sister, Mary Knopp of the town of Oswego; a foster daughter, Sue Shurtliff of Oswego; 10 grandchildren, Jason Steele, Jeanne Marie McManus, John LaLande, James LaLande, Jacqueline LaLande, Jessica LaLande, Joseph Pilon, John Pilon, Justin Fairbanks, Jenny-Lynn Fairbanks; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Pilon and Sophie Pilon.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Calling hours are 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
