James E. “Duffy” Dauphinais, 81, died Wednesday, Aug.13, 2008, in Keene, N.H. at Genesis Health Care after a lengthy illness.
He resided at Sand Pond in Marlow/Lempster, N.H. with his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Gary Clark.
Born May 22, 1927 in Holyoke, Mass., he was a son of Armand P. Dauphinais and Aline Mason Dauphinais.
Duffy moved to New Hampshire from Oswego, after the loss of his beloved wife, Mary Teresa (McGann) Dauphinais. Prior to that, they enjoyed living on the shores of Lake Ontario and spending their winters in Tarpon Springs, Fla. Before Duffy’s retirement from John R. Lyman as warehouse supervisor, the Dauphinais’ lived in Chicopee, Mass.
Duffy will be missed by all and remembered especially for his love of family and friends, his soft and most kind ways, his love of stories, his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
Duffy was predeceased by wives, Estelle A. Pare Dauphinais, Nov. 12, 1963, and Mary Teresa (McGann) Dauphinais, Aug. 20, 2005; and a son, James E Dauphinais Jr., Oct. 4, 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane (Gary) Clark; a son, Patrick (Elizabeth) Dauphinais, of Waynesboro, Pa.; step-children, Lee (Donna) Edwards, of Irving, Texas, Kathy Steiger, Clyde Laudermilk and Bruce Laudermilk; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Dauphinais of Chicopee, Mass.; grandchildren, Kimberly Stinson of Girdwood, Ark., Timothy Stinson II of Brattleboro, Vt., Erica and Allison Dauphinais of Chicopee, Mass., William, Alexandra and Josephine Dauphinais of Waynesboro, Pa.; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Haines of Chicopee, Mass.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Aug. 23, from the Church of the Resurrection, Oswego, with committal services in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oswego.
The family wishes to thank HHC of Keene and Claremont and the staff at Genesis for their wonderful care. The staff made a huge difference in his life.
