Catherine W. Copeland, a resident of Niskayuna, previously of Emerson Avenue, Utica, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a brief illness.

Catherine was raised and educated in Utica, a graduate of UFA and the Utica School of Commerce.

She was married to Earl A. Copeland. Mr. Copeland passed away in 1972.

Catherine was an avid bridge player and homemaker, who loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Catherine is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann (William) Schultz of Oswego, and their children, W. Brian, Matthew E., Michael C. Mary Catherine and Elizabeth A.; Sharon (Paul) and Coderre of Scotia, and their children, Daniel J. Christopher E. and Laura C.; nephew, Warren, his wife, Jane, and their children, Christine, Dennis (deceased), Kathy, Kevin and Robert.

Besides her husband, Earl, Catherine was predeceased by her parents, Emil and Catherine (Mathis) Werren; and a sister and brother, Mildred and Charles.

Mrs. Copeland’s memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica.

Her burial will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown.

Her arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica.
