Marion R. Wild, 77, of 200 E. Seventh St., Oswego, passed
away, Thursday, May 8, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a
courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Albany, Marion was a resident of Oswego for 43 years. She met
her husband of 55 years, Terence Wild, on a blind date on St.
Patrick’s Day, 1951. They were married after Marion graduated from
S.U. as a registered nurse. Marion and Terence were blessed with
seven children.
Marion enjoyed family gatherings, camping and any activities
involving her children. Marion continued her love for children as an
elementary school nurse for 20 years in Oswego.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church and on
the board of trustees for 30 years. After retiring, she enjoyed
spending time with family and friends, traveling and reading.
Surviving are her husband, Terence of Oswego; children, Michael of
Phoenix, Ariz., Steven of Oswego, Daniel (Susan) of Oswego, Robert
(Kristen) of Phoenix, Gary (Elizabeth) of Webster, Bruce (Diane) of
Simpsonville, S.C., Cindy (Rick) Somers of Oswego; grandchildren,
Josh, Alex, Kelci, Tommy, David, Jake, Nick, Olivia, John, Adam,
Victoria, Elizabeth, Kellye, Tony, Casey and Ryan; great-
granddaughter, Nya; brother-in-law Chris Wild; and several nieces and
nephews.
A memorial service will held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Trinity United
Methodist Church.
Calling hours are 4-7 p.m., Monday, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W.
Albany St., Oswego.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to
Trinity United Methodist Church, 45 E. Utica St., Oswego.
