Rita A. Izyk, 86, of Oswego, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego. 

Mrs. Izyk was born in Oswego and had been a lifetime resident. 

She was a cook for the Oswego School District and Sunrise Nursing Home. Mrs. Izyk cooked for many years at Wood’s, her family’s restaurant. 

She was a member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary #2157. Mrs. Izyk was a member of St. Stephen’s Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Izyk; brothers, George Woods, Louis Woods and Eldrick Woods; and her grandson, Mark Solazzo. 

She is survived by her son, John (Donna) Izyk of Oswego; her daughter, Randy Izyk of Oswego; brother, Patrick John Woods of Colorado; grandchildren, April, David and Christopher Izyk and Matthew Solazzo; and six great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church.

Entombment  will be in All Saints Mausoleum.
