Mary (Solowy) Smith, 96, of Fulton, passed away on Aug. 7, 2008 after a brief illness.
Born August 1, 1912 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Stefan and Anastasia Solowy.
Mary retired form Nestle Co., Fulton where she had worked in the wrapping department for 25 years.
She was a former member of the Fulton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #569 Ladies Auxiliary, the Granby Center Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Fulton Garden Club.
Mary was a noted seamstress and floral arranger for many years.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Richard Garbus of Fulton; granddaughter, Victoria Cole of Fulton; grandson and wife, Jason and Sandra (Korhumel) Cole of Macedon; nephew and wife, Michael and Donna (Regal) Solowy; and several grand-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Foster Funeral Home with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery to follow.
Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
