To the editor:
I would like to thank the State Troopers, Oswego County Sheriffs, Fulton Police Department, District Attorney’s Office and the Oswego County Court System for their hard work and diligence.
I was the victim of a stolen vehicle and the State Troopers responded to the call. They were very professional and courteous from the initial response, through the entire investigation. Given the circumstances, it was unlikely that I would ever see my vehicle again. I received a call sometime later that they had my vehicle in their possession and wanted to know when I could pick it up. I was thrilled! Unfortunately, it was totaled, but the work they did to find it was outstanding.
I expressed my gratitude and was immediately informed that it was not entirely their doing. They wanted me to know that the Sheriff’s Department and the Fulton Police Department were involved in a collaborative effort, and that without their participation I would likely not have my truck back.
Since that day, the District Attorney’s Office and Courts have prosecuted the individuals involved.
We see criticism in the media regularly regarding our justice system from the police officers on through to the courts. I wanted to take this opportunity to point out a job exceptionally well done on the part of everyone involved from start to finish. Also, I would like to comment on the concern, friendliness and professionalism of everyone I spoke to throughout the entire process.
Please put yourself in the shoes of these people for a moment and realize the daily hardship they endure for the betterment of our community and our children. My respect and gratitude go out to all the good people involved in trying to keep us safe and secure.
