The Oswego varsity boys lacrosse team fell to Central Square 8-7 in overtime on Wednesday at Joseph Wilber Field.
On the man advantage, senior Tyler Jennings, who scored late in the fourth quarter to send the game into sudden-death overtime, fired in the game-winning shot for the Red Hawks just 29 seconds into extra time.
Neither team could build more than two-goal lead, with Central Square holding the largest lead of the game at 5-3 at intermission.
Senior Eric Cooper, who led the Bucs with four goals, scored two markers and senior Steve Czarnecki cashed in a shot as the Bucs outscored the Red Hawks 3-1 in the third quarter, tying the game at 6-6.
The Bucs went ahead early in the fourth quarter for the first time since the opening minute of the game. Cooper scored at 10:03.
Jennings tied the game for the Red Hawks with 2:58 remaining in fourth, setting the stage for his game-winning shot in overtime.
